The Institute of Animal Science promotes the objectives of a sustainable food production with healthy animals by saving resources and be compliant with animal welfare. Education and research deepen the understanding of processes in the animals and their consequences for agriculture. Quantitative methods of phenotyping in combination with chemical, molecular biological, behavioral and statistical methods are further developed and mediated.
Research about the microbiome in livestock and its interaction with the animal and environment is one key topic of the institute.

Ukrainian scientists on any level (Master and PhD students, PostDocs and higher levels) in the field of livestock science who need support in continuing their research are welcome to contact directly the respective group leaders via Email. Support may include hosting in our team with on-site support, distant supervision of young scientists using online communication platforms, or singular consultations. Unfortunately, neither financial issues nor accommodation is included in the support.
